ppg waveform analysis
two papers on photoplethysmography — using a green led and a photodiode to read your pulse off a fingertip. one paper looked at denoising under motion, the other at separating respiratory rate from the same signal.
the work started as a high school side project and became something more after a year of fitting filters at 2am.
